Please read this before even considering Amerlink/In The Woods Log Homes! My wife and I have just consulted an attorney to help us deal with our situation with Amerlink.

We purchased a "Ventura II" package from Amerlink in Dec. 2007 and scheduled our delivery for July 10th, 2008. We did everything they asked us to do to prepare for delivery including 3 friends missing a day of work to help us, renting an expensive fork truck, even had our framing crew on-site to stage materials and start work. They said 2 trucks would be arriving with our package. But only one truck showed up with 2/3rds of the logs we were supposed to get. Nothing else! And we had to give full payment to the driver before unloading that!

I called John Barth, Amerlink's President and CEO to find out where our materials were. He told me the "local supplier" that would be bringing our lumber and all other materials was closed for 4 days for inventory. I asked him what that had to do with our delivery which Amerlink had 7 months to prepare for? He could not give me an answer. And now, here it is, 3 months after our confirmed delivery date and we still have not received all of our materials.

This was the beginning of a long string of lies to us from the president of Amerlink. He promised to reimburse us for the expenses we incurred due to their negligence in the delivery of our log home package, totalling over $16,000. We submitted our receipts for reimbursement and we haven't heard from him or Amerlink in 6 weeks!

We were naive to believe there is honesty and integrity with Amerlink. Please don't make the same mistake we did! Don't be another Amerlink victim!

If you have had a similar experience with them, or discussion, please share it with the forum. We need to inform all the potential buyers we can reach!

My Family put down $40k two years ago on a package that was supposed to be built last month. The foundation and septic are in, but after 3 scheduled delivery dates, on which no logs came, we are now looking into the company. I would like to be included in the class action law suit. Please keep me informed. We are located in New Jersey.

I had just look up info about amerlink to see what is going on and I happen to read all these dicussions about everyone's problems. The same problems that you guys are having is happing to him. He purchased the log home in May of 2008 with 40% off the kit and in October 2008 he received 2/3 of his kit and only had one truck showed up as well and had to give him the rest of the payment before they unload. Now we just found out today December 9, 2008 that the company has closed there doors and he is left with half of a home that is laying on the property where he is supposed to build. The subcontractor that they buy the logs from will not give him the rest of his kit until he gets paid $15,000 because Amerlink owes him millions. So what do we do now? Do we contact Lawyers or are we screwed?
Hi Everybody,

Just to let you know, I so sincerely apologize for anyones misfortunes in dealing with Amerlink/In
The Woods Log Homes. I was laid off earlier this year from my Sales Position. Hearing Sales must put a lot of bad taste in your mouths at this poiint. It certainly does mine!
When I started with the Company I thought It was wrapped, I just got a gift, this job was a tremendous assett to me and my families future.
I also believed that I was working for a very reputible company. When I was flown down given a nice room in the Hotel, had an expense account, It was all beautiful I was in training!
Almost immedietly I knew something was up! All the trainers that I had just trained with, were no longer with the Company. This was only after a couple of weeks returning to my home base. Reality was going to be Drama Drama and more Drama!!
Still however I had seen this beautiful Sawmill both Handcrafted and Milled Log. I had seen all the people that worked for te Company and thought to myself how spectacular!
Like most honest Salespeople when you are selling something, You have to love it yourself thats where your truth and integrety come to play. Most of the Salespeople all had great intregrety, however we did not realize that this company was leading us so far astray! The Sales team was offered many incentives,
including Large Screen TVs, cash Bonuses and other illusive Carrots. We all tried our best to be Top Dog but the TV who got that? Maybe JB who knows. Like I said the illusive Carrot!! I did get one bonus for being the first Rookie for selling a house. I just Thank God that at that time they really got the material ordered.
We are just basically the hard working follow up team, the follow through team, the re-design and quote team, and now sell and get 35% down with a signed sales agreement team. then it all went to NC where we were no longer involved with the deal. Not even allowed to call the customer back team.
So then our deal now went to customer service team where they may or may not follow thru.
If I could count the deals that this company lost by not following thru after all the effort, here comes the bankrupt team!! Alot of mistakes !!
I always had wished I could follow through with my customers, After working with them we had a bond, I had trust which was ruined by neglect of another.
I certainly learned alot from this company and am so greatful that at the very end I was in the already gone team!!
By the way when I was laid off the company owed me several thousand dollars. Still havent seen it!
My wish to you is that you all get every penny back owed! And soon!

God Bless all of you!!
I hear ya log gone crazy. I was one of the fortunate who walked on a very high note!!! As far as money owed ..... I am also with the many who are on the OWED list. I, however took it one step farther and had the labor board demand my money which now, LORD only knows when that will come through!!!!!!
