What is best stain for exterior of log home?

Permalink Reply by Jim Rogers on July 9, 2009 at 6:49pm: I, too, would love to have your information - I'm in the process of renew a 40+ year old log cabin. Its last stain/sealer was Defy, water sealer stain (water clean up) -Colorado Gold color. I've pressure washed and am ready for finishing. Only the front of the cabin has morning/mid-day full sun exposure. Thanks for the help.
Another problem with carpenter bees - could one add "sevin" to a stain to help deal with the pests?
