What is the best way to clean the saw dust off the logs after sanding before I stain?

Thanks,

Leaf blower. :-) Or shop vac on reverse.

Plain old air....THAT"S AWESOME!!!!!  I'm sick of scrubbing and was afraid I was going to have to wash it with something again.  Thanks :-)

You can blow it off, but likely to blow it on another surface. Better to suck the obvious dust off and collect. Then damp rag with water to wipe from top down. Rinsing and changing clean rag often. But no washing and rinsing needed. Just wiping. Washing only needed if oily or grimy that new stain won't stick. But don't use leaf blower and think it doesn't blow and lay on other side. Unless you have a exit door that pushes it out without clinging.
Ideally you use a sander with a shop vac attachment and eliminate the dust problem all together. We use Festool sanders and their shop vac like this: http://festoolusa.com/power-tools/hepa-dust-extractors/ct-26-hepa-d...
