Hello log home aficionados. We are very excited about building our first log home, but find ourselves jumping from one possible alternative to another and then back again. However, after 6 months of looking, we think we found an option that we really like (finally!).
After doing quite a bit of research and then attending one of their special customer weekend tours, we found we were very impressed with Blue Ridge Log Cabins. They are a modular log home building company but use all real logs and basically get you the log home you would have had if built log-by-log on your property. They simply do it all indoors in a very impressive facility under very nicely controlled conditions. Then, in only a very short timeframe, assemble the log home in its entirety on your property, meeting all the building codes of a 100% on-site built log home.
Anyway, we have not seen many recent posts of any kind as to how good a company they are or about modular log homes in general as they are built today. Wondering how good an experience others may have had who have already purchased homes from Blue Ridge and/or are now living in the homes themselves. We would really love to hear feedback from anyone with any recent direct experience with one of their homes or another company's modular log home whether just having completed a build or whether you have lived in one for a couple years and could share your experience.
We know the modular log home building processes have come along way from their infancy in terms of custom design capabilites as well as overall construction quality and would like to hear more about others experiences in the last couple years, if possible. The pricing is very reasonable as well compared to others.
Does anyone have any real-world experince with Blue Ridge Log Cabins that can offer some advice, hopefully confirming our current intentions to buy, or providing solid reasons why we should be careful?
Thanks do much - we love this site as a lot of great posts on just about any topic.
