The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

I wanted to let everyone know about this new product we like.

I own MM Wood Restoration & Protection based in Washington State and have been in business for almost 20 years doing log home restorations, cedar home restoration, deck staining, ect.

In the spring of 2016, we tested a new technology, modified oil deck product from Lovitt's Coatings called Deck Beast.  This product uses scientific advances in nanotechnology and micro-acrylic resins.  We were immediately impressed by this deck stain while we were applying it due to its' super low odor, amazing translucent look, soap and water clean-up and ease of application to the wood.

When we first applied it, we were like "oh no, what did we do wrong" as the color in the stain did not show at first.  But as the stain set up and cured, the color "popped" like nothing we had seen before- apparently this was due to the advanced HD (High Definition) tints used in their formula.

Like all deck stains that are new formulations, I was very pessimistic about how it would wear and look over time.  Well, the 2 year anniversary in spring is not here yet, but I just visited the deck in February of 2018 (which is at high altitude in the Cascade Mountains with full sun and weather exposure) and couldn't believe how well it has held up so far.

I am going to do a video on this product in the coming months and will post it here for everyone so you can see for yourself.  Lovitt's is through testing and it is now available for sale.  We are excited to present this product to our customer base this year!
