We are in need of replacing about 1000 sq ft of decking around the perimeter of our log home. We initially used material that were old telephone poles. We thought was a great deal at the time. Hind sight 20/20. They never kept a finish and the creosote leached out. This time around we are looking at either 5/4 cedar, green treated, or composite.
Does anyone have any good recommendations? Thanks.

I'm not yet convinced that composite is there. We have a townhouse with a small amount on a balcony. It's been a constant struggle against mildew.
