The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

We're trying to get the cost of building our log home down to budget and considering using drywall on some of the ceilings.  This would be just one of many cuts we have to consider (the savings will add up).  In the bedrooms & bathrooms, drywall ceilings seems fine.  In the great room, must have the tongue & groove.  Not sure about the loft, it seems it would look funny to have a wood ceiling intersect with a drywall ceiling.  The layout is a prow front, but the main ridge line runs perpendicular to that above the loft and wing with bedrooms.  Has anyone mixed it up like this or seen pictures?  Has anyone used drywall and regreted it?
