Looking to use the E-Log product on our new home. Looks like a great product but would like to hear from someone who has used the siding in their new construction or remodeling job.

Anxious to learn,

Greg

Hi Wayne,
Thank you so much for the reply. My wife does not want a true log home so we are meeting half way with log siding and a few accented walls inside.I have been researching log siding for a year now and I am leaning heavily toward the E-Log product. John talked me into a sample log kit [well worth the $25].Wow!! I can't imagine how good it will look on our new home project. The product is a little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. I believe this will get me as close as I can to a true log look with an added insulation protection.I think the outcome will be amazing for us.I would like to stay in touch with you if you don't mind? I may need your services in the future, maybe even on our project coming up. My e-mail address is cccguy@tampabay.rr.com. If you get some time, drop me a line and I will stay in touch.
Thanks a million!!
Greg

Here's hoping you didn't get to use the e-log siding product.  We are extremely displeased with the quality and the service after the sale.  Now I have noticed the company has disappeared from the internet.   The product was installed on our home 3 years ago and within 6 months it began deteriorating.  Mainly on the side of the home that faces the morning sun.  I contacted the company, Pine River, and they gave us the run around for many months.  Now there is no was to contact them at all.  The house looks very bad though we have done everything we were suppose to do.  Looks like we will have to remove the product completely which is at an incredible loss.  If you would like pics or videos of what I am speaking of, just let me know.  Take care.

I think this might be the current link for a company that manufactu...

I'd defer to the pros and those who have had experience, but I saw some of this at a show a few months ago and was not impressed.  The reason?  Well, this was a show and you'd think that they'd present the product in the very best light possible, yet the sample we were shown exhibited numerous small longitudinal splits in the grain and finish.  Since it had never been exposed to weather it seemed to me that this might be a recipe for heartbreak.  I'd be a little careful.

If you guys would like to see the actual splits/craters and substantial destruction of the product after just 3 years on a house I can certainly post a video or pics on youtube.  Plus no support to remedy the situation, though I have been trying since 6 months after installation.   Poor product and even poorer CS.

Post away

Please

I just bought from Tennessee Heritage Log Homes A wholeseller and it was great siding and log . I think I paid 2.10 LF and shipping was 600.00 for 350 miles.
