I'm planning to upgrade my electrical panel to 200 amp. The house is too old, I mean around 25-30 years old. So, I think it's high to upgrade the panel to avoid electrical accidents.

When asked about the panel upgrade people are saying different things. Some say that if we pick the panel, the building must be brought up to code with a new build. But some guys are saying it isn't a problem because it's a really old house.

Most of our rooms are about 10x10. Currently, we have two outlets. Is it ok, or do we need another outlet?
Though I'm going to hire a licensed electrician from Toronto I would like to get some advice regarding the same from you guys. Please help me with this if you can.
