The Log Home Neighborhood

Hi-

Anyone know of any log home developments/neighborhoods in a mountain setting in the New England area?  We're not looking for a vacation property.  Rather, this would be our year round residence.  Any ideas?

Hi Michael,

I do know someone who was interested in doing a 5 lot all log home subdivision in Mass, just south of Worcester.  It has the highest elevation in town and has awesome views.   Let me know if it might be something of interest and I will pass along his contact info.

Hi Randy-

Thanks for your reply.  Sure, please do pass his info onto me.  Email is msilvia23@yahoo.com if you prefer.

Thanks again-

Michael

Hello Randy, is that a log home builder or a land developer? I know this is a late response but just seeing if this has gone anywhere. We are located in Athol MA and we are handcrafted log home company. www.northernlightsloghomes.com is my website.

Hi there - We built our year round home 3 years ago in Otisfield, Maine on a beautiful lake.  The development is 15 lots (some people own 2 lots) and there are currently 9 homes either finished or in the process (some are doing all the work themselves - NOT US!!).  Most are either log or log sided.  No one lives here full time yet - most will retire here - we still have another year or two but we come up pretty much every weekend - we are from Boston and it takes 3 hours door to door without too much traffic (yea right)  3 hours was our limit for the drive but we both have flexible jobs so we leave Boston about 11 on Friday and are here by 2 - sometimes we go home Sunday night and sometimes Monday.  Here is a picture of our house and the lake (very quiet lake - no boats over 5hp allowed - love it!).  Where are you from??

Thanks for the reply.  Your house looks very nice.  We used to go up to Sebago every year, and often would rent a pontoon boat, go through the locks, and up to long lake, right near you.  You're probably on Thompson Lake , which is nice as well.

I want the mountains, and my wife wants a lake, so we've decided we must have both!  That will narrow our search down to very few places.  Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Hello my name is Colin O'Hara and I own Northern Lights Log Homes. We are based in Mass and have a second location in Montana. We ship all over the United States. We are a handcrafted log home company and have built a few houses very similar to the floor plan you have selected. You can take a look at our houses here https://www.facebook.com/pages/Northern-Lights-Log-Homes/3590680429... I would love to chat with your about your building plans if you havent already made up your mind.

Hi Michael, Katahdin Cedar Log Homes is a 40 year old company in Oakfield Maine and has all the resources you need to realize your dream. The Peacocks are a good place to start and usaloghomes.com can get you started on design and budget and land. Good Luck, Jim and Pam
