The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

This log home was just corn cob blasted last year and stained with Penofin.  The owner's weren't happy because the log home turned out overly orange.  Now Log Home Finishing is media blasting again with walnut shell and the log home will be stained with Sashco Capture / Cascade after extensive product testing and sampling on this log home near Fairplay, Colorado.

What are the guys on the ladder doing? Because it looks like the staining, but there are also tarps down with blast media on it?

The guy on the far right is walnut shell media blasting with 35/60 grade.  The portion on the right was just cleaned.  Even though this is a small house we go nice and slow and spend a week real carefully blasting at lower than usual pressure and flow.  The guys on the left are masking with 3m film and vinyl red tape (super top secret special tape).  We mask before blasting to protect windows from the walnut shell ricochet.  The tarps are used to collect the media for disposal.  My crew rocks!

need to look at the plumbing vents. They look like an 8th grader installed them. LOL

It's rural Colorado, anything flys
