I am currently working on a log home that has logs that have had an oil stain on them for the past 5 years.   The log siding on the home looks like that oil has disappeared and the logs are burnt on the top part of the round.   Any suggestions on how to clean the black off the logs?

Hi Tim and Anita,

Depending on the severity of the UV damage, you may well be able to remove most if not all of the damage with a percarbonate cleaner, such as Wood Renew.  You may find yourself needing to touch sand a few areas where the UV damage is super heavy, but that's probably going to be the easiest.  Free samples will give you a good read on how effective the process is going to be before you have to invest in product!

Thanks!
