The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

I have a log cabin that was built in 1998. The bottom corners and siding on the dormers is rotten. The siding was milled by Old Timer Log Homes out of Juliet TN. They have gone out of business and I can't find any siding or false corners that even come close to the correct dimensions. It is white pine ship lap with no reveal. It 1 7/8" thick and the stack is 7 1/2". The lap is 1/4" x 3/8". The corners are butt pass. Does anyone know where I can buy siding to match? Is there anyone out there that will custom mill siding and false corners? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Toni - Try giving a call to David Knox with LogDoctors in Kodak, TN: (855) 349-5647. He should be able to help you out.

Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't also make sure you've already dealt with the cause of the rot. If you've identified the cause and mitigated that, good for you! If not, talk to David about that, as well.

Hope that helps.

Good luck with your project!
