Can anyone provide me some companies that specialize in removing stain from my log home. I would like to strip down to the bare wood and basically start fresh.

Palm sanders and buy a couple because one will wear out.  LOL

I used to use Dewalt, Makita, etc.. sanders, then I discovered Festool

http://www.festoolusa.com/power-tools/sanders/

they don't where out, get 5x more done in the same amount of time and a much better job.

You can find several on our website here: http://www.sashco.com/log/contractor.aspx

And just to give you some more good info, download and read through our "Keeping the Dream Alive" booklet that tells all about log home finishing (or refinishing) and maintenance so you can know what kind of questions to ask. http://www.sashco.com/log/pdfs/Keeping_the_Dream_Alive.pdf

Hope that helps! Good luck!

I'm Thomas Elliott owner of Log Home Finishing LLC located in Breckenridge, Colorado.  We specialize in removing finishes from log and wood surfaces prior to applying finish.  Media blasting, sanding, and pressure washing all get the job done.  One method usually stands out depending on the project, and sometime a project requires all three steps.  It all depends on what finish you are trying to remove and the condition of the wood and your desired outcome.  Generally better prep work equals more satisfactory results.  Do you have some photos you could post?

Check out our Log Home Finishing portfolio of projects completed this year which sound similar to yours:

I would prefer to send you pictures direct versus putting them on here. Where should i send them?
