The Log Home Neighborhood

An online log home community for log home enthusiasts.

We built the log home of our dreams. Put our hearts, souls and a lot of time, sweat and love into every detail. Loved it! Planned to live there the rest of our lives there, but life took a different path and we had to move. It is a wonderful home with tons of special features and lots of character. Set in a beautiful private wooded setting with tons of wildlife, yet only minutes to the big city - hard to find these days! Everyone who sees it loves it and many express they would love to buy it if they had the money to do so. Local realtors just throwing it up on the local MLS and hoping for the best have not produced a buyer for this wonderful home. Wondered if anyone had any creative marketing ideas or places to advertise to find a buyer. Here is a link to the video tour if anyone is interested in seeing it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-T5k5dgelM

Looking forward to building our new log home at our new farm - once we sell this one!

Thanks so much!

That's a beautiful home! I LOVE the tin insets!

Here's an article my broker wrote (just today, actually!) about selling log homes: http://www.michiganloghomesforsale.com/7-questions-ask-will-help-se... I know we wouldn't be able to help you in Kentucky, but it gives some questions to ask a Realtor when you're trying to find one that can help you sell the property.  Unfortunately, you might need to consider changing Realtors - plopping it on the MLS and letting it sit is the approach most agents take :(  But an agent that specializes in log homes should have ideas and resources to help it sell faster.

Another idea might be to go back to the builder and offer them a similar "commission" as you would a Realtor if they can sell it to one of their clients. They might have someone considering building something similar, and could make money without having to build!

Best of luck to you!
