In our future log home, we will have one room where instrumental music lessons will be taught.  Because of that, we would like to soundproof an interior wall.  Other than filling it with insulation, what are other things that could be done to further enhance the soundproofing?

You can use a 2x6 top and bottom plate but use 2x4's as the wall studs but stagger them from side to side, space them on 12" centers,  them weave insulation between the studs.  This creates a space between the studs and the attaching sheetrock, so sound will not transfer easy. You may also attach foam sheeting before the sheetrock also.  Check out this site www.soundproofing101.com/soundproofing_3.htm.
