Spammers and Gratuitous or Suspicious Profile Names

Yes - though I think it may take me 2 days to compile due to the numerous turkeys! Like I mentioned above in response, I think requiring a word verification prior to someone being able to post their profile - might slow some of those automatic computer spammers.

I wonder if new members could be put in a different section away from the forum posts. That way the new member list wouldn't overwhelm the posts. Most of the false members are easy to spot to remove, but you wouldn't want to remove some that are legit.

I have had discussions with the Host prior to this and as he explained he is basically a one man operation involving this blog and welcomes any help he can get. He suggested setting up a group that would approve a new member which I thought sounded good but was'nt needed but it has become obvious that things are getting out of control. As I mentioned, something has happened with my connection and I can't internally send him a message. The system doesn't recognize my entries in some areas. As an example I can't log off. I don't know if I have blocked a cookie that is needed by LOGU. Meanwhile the second you see an obvious new member that is phony send it to Neighborhood Host. The following is a list of such individuals and I would appreciate it if you would copy and insert into an email to Host.

Obviously our sight has been somewhat hacked so meanwhile, while Host works on the problem, would someone please forward this list of questionable members to Neighborhood Host.

I copied, pasted and e-mailed both of your lists to Neighborhood Host. I think some of them have already been removed, though. Thanks for compiling the list!

I and I'm sure others have sent in suspicious members to the Host and he has acted. He has eliminated dozens of them. If you try to go to their sites the system will not find them any longer. Please forward any more "evil doers" to Host as soon as they appear and we will help to put an end to this spamming.

Host emailed me that they will try to make changes to prevent the spamming sites that these people have put into their membership file. I don't need anything to get larger except my wallet.

You know it is just a shame what the spammers are doing. Unless you are on this site constantly, you don't see a lot of posts, only that 13 more joined the neighborhood and more and more. There is a wealth of info here and some very good people, I for one, hope I can ride out the annoyance before I give up logging on.
