They have a great complete package, has anyone used them?
We toured the factory and was really impressed. It was kind of fun. We stayed at the Dells and vacationed and drove up to Golden Eagle from there. It was clean, very organized, well kept milling machines and a large showroom for selections. We have seen several of their homes and really liked the look and style. We liked the aluminum soffits, the finished ceilings below lofts instead of open beams to help quiet loft noise, the large choices of good quality products to choose from. We also like the way they seal the windows. I think their prices are inline for a good log home. You can spend more and you can spend less. Log homes are more or less custom homes so they will have a higher price tag than a standard built home. One thing I didn't like is that when you price a home, you don't get item prices so it makes it hard to compare items you wish to buy locally, but they seem to be very willing to work with you as far as adding things or deleting items you would like to purchase elsewhere. They offer builder classes and have several videos on how to build, home tours and online webinars. We haven't built yet but we are getting closer to do so.
Hello Glenn, Buying the package from a good manufacturer and purchasing other components locally gives you the ability to make changes and save money during the building process. You can be more creative and have fun at the same time while customizing your home. You would not believe some of the things our clients show up with. Stained glass pieces go with any log home and you can find all kinds of great plumbing and electrical fixtures. Be part of the creative process but, be mindful of costs during construction.
