Every year for Christmas we make houses/villiages out of graham crackers, a few years ago I used stick pretzels instead and after they have served their purpose as decorations we cover them in birdseed and put them outside. it can be funny watching the birds and squirrels fighting over the houses.

Great idea! We will have to do this as an activity with our grandchildren. They would love the idea of building a log home out of pretzels. And the birds would love it, too. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you - I thought that would be a great project for my Grandson during Thanksgiving break. My Dad does so much to feed all the wildlife in his yard, I thought it would be good for my Grandson to make one for his Great Grandpa for a Christmas gift.

I don't mind at all, my girls are grown and we still do it when they are home. They had a blast doing it when they were little. We would do it during their Christmas vacation. One year my youngest daughter tried to make a sky scraper, but it was too top heavy. Good luck!

I used frosting which works great, and is bird friendly!

What a wonderful idea. What did you use to hold it all together? Is that shortening or frosting?
