Tell us about yourself:
I am a mother of three grown children and a rescue dog. In 2007,my husband,Wayne and I built a log home in the Allegheny Mountains of Garrett County,Maryland. We are within minutes of Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Ski Resort. It was our dream and we worked very hard to make it a reality. Our new log home is our joy. You can view pictures of our home at our shutterfly site.http://rusticridge2.site.shutterfly.com/ No pass word needed.
Are you lucky enough to be living in a log home?
We have a log vacation home.

Do you have Anderson windows in green? If so, what is the paint color of your door? We have the green Anderson windows and want to paint the door the same color.
I love the sled table and the log house tissue holder. Do you remember where that are from?

Well, as it turns out, we will not be up this weekend afterall. We have to do some work on the VA house this weekend and will be preparing for the kids to get home for Thanksgiving next weekend. I do know we will be up the first few weeks of December. Pls let me know if you are there then and hopefully we can get together! Love the fall pix of your home.

Hi Alexis - Yes, we should be up that weekend. I will be in SC the next 2 weeks on business and then we will go back up to the mountains the weekend before the boys come back from college for the Thanksgiving holiday. I see that snow is in the forecast for the week so it looks like I will miss the first snowfall of the year. :-(. Oh well, more of that to come so I should get my fill. Looking forward to seeing you!

Thank you Alexis! I'm hoping once my hubby clears some brush this weekend - we can get a good shot of our log home in the trees. Happy Autumn to you!!
P.S. Pretty soon it'll be time to post our holiday decoration photos....

Alexis - I wish I could hire you to finish the interior decorating in my log home - maybe my next one I build!! Love your taste and enjoy perusing your photos for ideas.

Rick is a second year candidate for ski patrol now and loves it. It does takes some study committment the first year - and maybe into the second too, but someone with a medical background would find it easier. My ski abilities are somewhat lacking. I love Possum and the easy trails in Northcamp but I did do Main Street last year. It was a warm slushy spring day, and my son and husband stayed with me, but it was still scary! Anyway, I am sure we will be there one weekend together. Rick can tell you all about ski patrol - but don't let his broken leg scare you - he did that on my son's longboard (skateboard) one evening in June when he was trying it out. Oooooops!
