When landscaping your new log home, deer proof plants are not your only concern!

We recently did some landscaping around our new log home. We spent hours talking to the local garden center about just the right shrubs and trees to plant that would not be devoured by the large local deer population. So we got our plants and did our landscaping. Everything looked great for about two weeks. This is what I saw on Saturday morning leading up to our six foot blue spruce tree.

Have you ever done a blower door test on your house? Looks cold where are you located? I just completed a Khuns home and the Khuns Builder/Rep for them never air sealed anything nor put the proper insulation in the roof systems. All went and looked well untill after $5,000. in propane in just 3 months then a blower test that turned out at 2600 cfi that should only be around 800-1000cfi. Now Kuhns wont even come look at it! I dont think that their "Reputation Matters" anymore and I wish we never wasted money on there package!!
