My wife and I are (like many on here) planning for retirement in a log home. We are most interested in Sweedish cope with saddle notch corners. Some of the manufacturers we have looked into have tried to discourage us from this design - claiming that conventenial stick built with half log siding, or other log styles are (you pick) cheaper, easier, better, etc. RMLH seems to be on-board with what we are looking for, and I'm trying to find folks who have built or are building a RMLH…See More

- Starting to plan now to have a log home at retirement. We own a lot in Trinidad, CO (mountain view, plenty of trees, etc). Right now my wife and I are researching floors plans that meet our needs: one bedroom, prow fron, loft for office. We are also comparing manufacturers to pick the one we want to go with.
- Are you lucky enough to be living in a log home?
- Not yet - April 2013 is the target date.
