In August 2008 my husband finally saw the light - and agreed we need to sell some other property and invest in lake front property where we can put up a home. So in August of 2008 we began the process of purchasing land on the shores of Gitchee Gummee. We are also selling farm land - way out in the country as our collective dream is to live at the shore. Our goals are to have a handccrafted log home that we can use for vacations - and to rent out (gotta pay the bills). Will we retire there? - only time will tell.
We then spent some time looking around the area, talking, and dreaming. We did confirm (agree) we wanted a log home. And we wanted a handcrafted log home. So we chose the best (in our opinion): Jerry Koski

We are moving along - and have had all the contingencies met and our offers accepted. We even have approval for funding - now we wait for the appraisal. It has been a roller coaster with the National budget issues and bank problems. For awhile we thought no one was lending money - then my brother had lunch with the president of a bank and mentioned us to him! And we were approved within a day! Gotta love those connected relatives!

Closing on our property is scheduled for 10/29/08 - keeping those logs crossed that all continues to go well. We are postponing the septic system until spring. So . . . . in the meantime we keep planning and dreaming.

We own it! Escrow has closed and we own our Lake Superior property. One hundred eighty five lake front feet - one of my life's dreams has been recognized through the grace of God!

Wow! Time has moved fast - but getting started has been slow. I cannot believe it has been 2 years since we started this with the purchase of our land. But I am excited to say - BUILDING HAS BEGUN!!
