Tell us about yourself:: My husband, Dan, and I are two brand new grandparents who divide our two daughters between Florida and Michigan. We decided to adopt North Carolina as our 2nd home and meet everyone half-way. Beside the fact that both of us have always loved the mountains and people of North Carolina! Hearthstone Homes is our log home manufacturer of choice and we hope to build our log home on our five acres located near Maggie Valley, N.C. within the next one to two years. In the meantime, we enjoy our two beautiful granddaughters as much as possible, work hard at our current jobs and always plan for the future with smiles on our faces.

Are you lucky enough to be living in a log home?: We have the 'blueprints' and hope to build as soon as possible.

Still waiting on the sale of our Florida Home. Our family was featured in the Oct issue of Log Home Living "You Dream - We Design". We have also joined "Dogs, Cats and Critters" where we have showcased our kitties. Hope all is fine with you guys.

As far as I can see the the real estate market has not improved here is Sarasota FL since we last wrote to each other. I hope you have been more successful then me. I have found a number of people in our group who are in the same boat. My wife and I have decided that we are going to put our house on the market in the fall of 2009 and see if we can get a decent offer. I'm not getting any younger (I'm past retirement age) and I would like to get a few years out of the log home before it gets passed on to my family.
So, what is the latest with you folks. Have you started making any hard plans to start building? Are you still going to use the same log home manufacturer?

At 6:58pm on June 17, 2008, Ted said…: Hey guys, thanks for getting back to us. You are correct that 276 is the same as Jonathan Creek Rd. We are off of Coleman Mtn. Rd. which is about a half mile South of exit 20 on Rt. 40. We will try to keep you posted as to our progress but please, you do the same. With some luck, we might be having cocktails together in the not to distant future.
