We keep the house at 55 when we are not there. We arrive up there and the windows are clear as can be, so putting the heat up is useless, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION - not to mention the price of propane these days. Yikes! We now turn on the ceiling fan to keep things moving. We also have a couple of smaller fans going since they are pretty quiet. We do have a dehumidifier but it is rather noisy so I would rather not use it all the time. When we cook it seems to get worse. After showers we keep the bathroom door closed and the fan on. We are still working on it. Thanks for asking!

Thanks Jim - I'm hearing all positive things about cedar, I think we're pretty much locked in on that part.  Beautiful wood and with great benefits.  I appreciate your support on that!

Log Home Pricing

Hello Folks, Love the blog on square foot pricing. As a Dealer/Builder that question is usually the first one asked. I don't easily volunteer that information except to say that all log homes are custom and can vary according to the bells and whistles. We like to help them find a design so that we can give them a turnkey estimate. Our package supplies all the components needed to build up to cabinets and mechanicals. The package price reflects close to one third of total costs to build a…

General Contractor

Hello Everyone, I see folks saying they are talking to general contractors to get prices to build their log home. If they are not talking to a log home general contractor they are opening themselves up to all kinds of problems. Dealer/builders are the most qualified to do your project. Some dealers have general contractors that have experience with log homes who can save you money and time. You don't want your project to be a training ground for a contractor and neither does your…
