Cleaning and restaining your log home

I recently purchased a log home back in August, and I need to wash and re-seal the logs.  I am looking for a safe and environmentally friendly logwash and sealant.  I am new to all this and would love some advice.  The companies that I have contacted to come out and do it basically told me it would be more cost effective for me to do it myself... where do I start?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!LisaManning, OregonSee More

Hi Lisa, Weatherguard and Perma chink have good reputations and continuously develop their product lines to meet environmental concerns. There are many determining factors to consider when you need to treat your logs or siding. They will give you expert information and advise you on the best product for your situation. They both manufacture environmentally safe products and can educate you. Good Luck,Jim and Pam Dealer/Builders for Katahdin Cedar Log Homes Mid-Atlantic Region
