How do you determine what it will cost to build your log home without anything custom, and go with the exact floorplan in your state? I live in Colorado and was curious of how this is figured out. Please help.

Hi Regina, As a log home Dealer/Builder I am asked to give turn-key estimates all the time. After 27 years I have learned this formula: Get the full price of all materials (wood) to build your home and multiply it by 3. The material should come to 65 or 70 dollars. You can make adjustments as you put bids together. I recommend that you work with an experienced log home contractor who can get you the best prices from his subcontractors and build your home in a timely manner. Most banks qualify your builder before they lend to you. The material price is per square foot of living space including closet space. Good Luck,
