Ro Bailey commented on Rose Glenn's group Going Green
"Thanks! I will post more photos when I get around to updating them. Right now the house is in the usual chaos from just moving in and trying to figure where everything should go. Starting a specific discussion is probably the best idea, rather than…"

Ro Bailey commented on Rose Glenn's group Going Green
"Hi, all, I am just finishing a handcrafted full round log home in Fairbanks Alaska, so some parts of green are critical, some are hugely effective, and some can't be done at all. I started with an existing partial foundation, septic, and well,…"

Profile Information

Tell us about yourself:
Retired Air Force, now a personal life coach, building my dream log house now. It sports 20 inch full round handscribed Alaskan white spruce logs, a green metal roof, will be 5 star-plus energy rated, and is the subject of two studies on energy efficiency. It has R-60 soy-based insulation in the roof, first in Fairbanks, so that performance will be studied over time. The logs will be instrumented to measure true R value of natural logs.
Are you lucky enough to be living in a log home?

Gday Ro, How are you going with your Log home? Im interested to find out more about your soy based insulation. How is it made? Have you got it installed yet?
