It's this kind of weather that makes me really appreciate living in Northern Virginia. I grew up in Arizona, and while a good part of it was in Flagstaff (which sits at 7,000 feet above sea level and does see its share of snow) there really wasn't the changing of the seasons that we get here.
As I rode the motorcycle in this morning, I was glad I had the full-face helmet on. It was definitely chilly! Now, in the early afternoon, it's gorgeous. Knowing the seasons are about to change (no, not baseball to football this time! ;-) ) is something I look forward to every year. This is the kind of weather I envision my home setting in. Whenever I'm day dreaming about my log home, it's always in an autumn setting. The bite of the air, the chill in the morning, the crunching of leaves as you walk to chop wood. Flannel sheets on the beds, the kettle going as my wife heats water for tea or hot chocolate.
I'm definitely ready for the cooler weather!
