There’s a common misconception among log home enthusiasts that in order to have one of these wood beauties of their own, they have to have a log home producer in their back yard.

It’s a notion that couldn’t be further from the truth, and this 2,491-square-foot, three-bedroom cedar log home is a prime example.

As the owners of this home were shopping for a company to prepare their log package, they fell in love with the look of cedar and with Maine-based Katahdin Cedar Log Homes.

The thing was that the couple’s property was in South Carolina, more than 1,200 miles away from Katahdin’s Oakfield-based mill.
