I like the instant gray patina and look it provides. But I don't buy the "Lifetime" logo. Maybe that is why they changed to "Eco Wood Treatment". The sample corner we have exposed to weather here in East TN has the same original gray look after (8) years. Also has mildew forming. And that means eventual rot. So the look is wonderful, but the protection by itself questionable.
Not sure how the clear satin topcoats (Advance) with UV and mildecides will initially work (stick) to this product, but the combination of the two might be a solution.
One drawback to initial application was spotty stain or discolor of deck boards. So plastic and tape needed to protect "splatter".
The only lifetime applications that I know that works (not all of them do) is the type that allows the wood to gray or petina, as it wood naturally. The product is silicate based and reacts to the components already present in the wood, creating a barrier against moisture, oils, ect, just beneath the surface. Remember, your wood will gray as it would untreated (Natures UV Protection). Some people love that, some people don't. The product we use is P-wood http://www.lovittscoatings.com/P-Wood-5-gallon-bucket_p_25.html
