It's been a few weeks since my last posting, and a lot has happened!
On Saturday, 11/20, we moved into the cabin with the help of my brother-in-law, nephew, two of his friends, and our son, Mike. The move went very smoothly and we were in and then spent the next few days setting up beds, loading the kitchen cupboards, and visiting the local Super WalMart to purchase the little odds and ends you tend to forget to pack or buy ahead of time. The cabin still has a few things left that our builder has to complete, but it was ready for us to enjoy.
Our kids and their families came on Tuesday and Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving at the cabin, and everyone pitched in and we had a super meal and enjoyed every moment together. We even built a small fire outdoors and toasted marshmallows and made S'Mores, despite the light showers. It was so relaxing to be at the cabin, and now we can't wait to return soon to decorate for Christmas. We are looking forward to having more family and friends visit for the holidays.
We are without a good Internet source at the cabin, we are waiting for DSL access to become available, but hopefully it will be available soon. We do have excellent satellite coverage, however. The tech from Dish Network really complimented Blue Ridge on their wiring for television.
I'm posting another set of pictures of the cabin after furniture was added. We are waiting for a pellet stove to come on December 7th, as well as the washer and dryer. Soon everyting should be done!
We are still thinking of a good name for the cabin, we are open to suggestions!
Take care everyone!
