Tamarack Log and Timber Homes Inc. is pleased to show everyone our latest project from our native white oak. This is not for the faint of heart as this material is very costly but our client in Kentucky wanted the best rot free material for his guest cabin built in the traditional style. It is being shipped later this month and we are sad to see it go from our site. Built for a lifetime of enjoyment!  What do you think?

Charis, Thanks!!!! Karen, Our client wanted the inside handhewn but I would have sooner planed the inside and sanded and oiled it.....like burnished leather....but to each his/her own.

While I like the resilience the white oak offers, it just doesn't have the "warmth" I associate with log cabins.  Can you post another picture after a few years?   : )
