Show season is upon us!

What is the best way to get face-to-face with industry professionals from the top log & timber home companies, maintenance experts, furniture craftsmen, building product dealers, and anyone else who can help build your dream home?

Attend a Log & Timber Home Show!

Our fall season line-up brings us around the eastern United States. We'll be going to Louisville, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Chantilly, and Tampa. Visit the "Events" section of this blog for more information or you can visit LogHome.com/shows to purchase tickets in advance and receive a $3 discount! You can also find out if your favorite company will be at a show by viewing the exhibitor lists.

We're working hard to bring you face-to-face with the best of the best in the industry. Instead of spending time, money, and fuel on visiting all these companies and/or model homes, we'll bring them all to you - all under one roof!

Don't see a show near you? Well don't worry - we'll be unveiling our 2009 line-up very shortly! We have done extensive research on the cities we go to - but we always could use feedback from the log home community! I have added a "Demand It" widget to my page. Simply click the demand button, give your zip code, and we'll tally up the results giving us helpful information on finding new locations for our shows. After all, we're here for YOU! :)

If you haven't attended one, you definitely need to. You can learn a lot about log home styles and how each company presents their packages. Even if you have already purchased a log home, you can still learn a lot about how to care for them. You can also keep updated about new products that can make your log home even better than you already have. We built our log home over ten years ago and the advancements made between then and now is amazing. And, if you are like my wife, you will find many new things to add to the look of your log home. Sorry guys, they would have found out anyway - chuckle!!

Also, we have open houses the second Sunday of each month as well as log home tours several times a year and we hold several FREE log home seminars each year.

As a vendor it can be hard to give everyone the time we would like to, because there are just so many questions to cover. Ask your show staff how to maximize your visit... Hope this helps! :-)

I agree that you should try to come early and stay late to get the best face time with sales representatives. If there is a company attending that you have been researching, I suggest calling ahead and setting up an appointment. I also encourage everyone to take advantage of the free daily smeinars. I hope to see some of our "Neighbors" in both Louisville and Chantilly.

Comment by Nancy Hunter on August 14, 2008 at 10:32am: Bob and I have been to four log home shows, each time we were in a different stage of building our log home. The first show we brought our plans and were shopping for a log home manufacturer and went to one of the seminars. The next show we were looking for a log home builder and log home construction financing. The next show we spent selecting stain colors for the interior and exterior of the house and the last show we starting looking for log furniture to put in the house when it was done. We have now moved into our house (see the pictures of Bob and Nancy Hunter's log home) and can't wait for the Chantilly show to go and buy some "fun stuff" to put into the house.
